The majority of Rap music artists are shit! Rappers for the most part are ridiculously ignorant especially when it comes to things like jewelry or so called “ice”. They love to rock their ice and most are proud to be African American (which that is perfectly fine), but don’t mind having barefoot children in Africa working 50 hours a week making almost nothing to get the diamonds for that gaudy necklace around their neck.
One could argue that the mines give workers jobs and this is true but they are significantly underpaid, and live in shanties with no electricity. (And in most cases there's no running water) Diamond mining is also large in Canada, Brazil, and Australia but the workers are more fairly compensated then in countries like South Africa or the Sierra Leone.
Question is, knowing your Nikes are manufactured in a sweatshop by children that are exploited as cheap labor, would u stop wearing them?
Is this the same situation?
If it is, you really can’t say shit to the rappers can you?
While your thinking about that, consider this: I don’t think that when Debiers calculates it’s profits it’s worried too much about what G-unit’s gonna do. I think they’re more concerned with preserving the tradition of diamond engagement rings. Knowing that *this* constitutes a consistently larger part of the demand for diamonds are you gonna get your fiance that diamond engagement ring? Again, can you really say shit to G-unit when people like you make up a larger part of the demand for this product?

for the record:
I have an unecessary amount of Nike shoes, and I do not wear nearly half of them.
I bought them for entertainent and for status (value). Sure, I do turn around and sell some of them for a profit. It's a quick dollar and I love it. But I guess at the same time that makes me a hypocrite, because in my own personal opinion I do not agree with the manufacturing.
However, there are many manyyy other corporations that much worse than Nike. Keep that in mind, I'm sure you can think of a few on your own. More than likely, you support it. (Even if it's not morally within your ideals)

Now, as humans we have this undeniable urge to please others that we do not even know.
Prime example being vehicles, and all of the new car prototypes.
Say you have a job as a dental physician. You have a good job, you went to school for those required years, you payed all that money, and you now want something to show for it. First thing you're going to to get, a brand new car.
Whether you're making 50k or 150k/year... we all have an underyling want to show off to others. We will go buy a brand new 75k car, just so other people can be envious on the road. You really do want someone to come by and say to you "Wow! That's a great car, wish I had one of those." You want people to wish they had what you have. (Whether it puts you in debt or not)
We all want others to be envious. If we didn't then there wouldn't be all these ridiculous high-tech gadgets, cars, new technology coming out all the time. Every company tries to one up their competitor. We as humans, try to one up each other in life all the time. (whether it be with cars, jobs, or just our accesories)
